4 Questions with…Our 2023 Graduates: Nina King-Madlem

With our 2023 Ordination-Graduation ceremony approaching, we are highlighting members of the graduating class. Click here to see all of the posts in this series.

Today we’re talking with Rabbinical Graduate Nina King-Madlem.

1) With the ceremony approaching, what emotions are you feeling?

I feel excited and humbled knowing that there is so much more to learn.

2) What is one learning from your Academy experience that you will take with you after graduation?

Every way is a way, if you make it a way (thank you Rabbi Mel).
Humility is a trait in which to engage all my life.
Laughter is a kind of prayer.

3) Is there anything you learned at AJRCA that truly surprised you?

I was surprised by how much more I love Judaism after learning about all of its diversity! I feel empowered, as an expression of my Judaism, to lift up and celebrate the long tradition of diversity within our communities throughout history. Celebration of diversity is a way to be more loving, more just, and more open to all who long to connect to the tradition.

4) If you could go back in time and tell your pre-AJRCA self one thing, what would that be?

Be bold!

Congratulations Nina!
