Today we’re talking with incoming Rabbinic student Sheri Sinaga.

Q1) Where do you live?

Long Beach, CA

Q2) How did you first hear of AJRCA?

My cantor – Cantor Kelly Cooper of Temple Israel Long Beach, CA.  Cantor Cooper is an AJRCA Alum.  Cantor Cooper has a deep passion and love for AJRCA. In her experience, the robust curriculum, supportive faculty and staff, and an amazing student body of compassion and kindness, were life changing.

Q3) What was it about AJRCA that drew you to enroll here?

I did a day visit online to several classes. The one class that stood out was the Homiletics class taught by Rabbi Elijah Schochet. It was 2 hours of deep spiritual wisdom and insight. In addition, two students gave their sermons, and I was again, inspired and moved by their stories and wisdom. This was my ah-hah moment, that AJRCA  was a school of rigor and of spiritual development.

Q4) What were you doing prior to enrolling?

I do Business Development for a corporate relocation company. My role is to get new business for my company, pursuing Fortune 500 companies with global footprints.  We relocate families around 176 countries.

Q5) As you embark on this experience, what are you most excited about?

I was so energized after the first week – the in-person residency. Everyone I met had such deep love for each other and humanity. I’m excited to learn from and with so much wisdom, stemming from the faculty and the students. I’m excited about growing spiritually and to continuing to be inspired by the many different voices at AJRCA.

Welcome Sheri!
