With the 2025 spring semester in full swing, we are delighted to highlight our talented and dedicated community members.
Today we are thrilled to spotlight AJRCA Board Member, Shoshi Wilchfort.
Shoshi Wilchfort has been involved with AJRCA since before it was founded. Over a slice of pizza at a roundtable meeting with the founders, Rabbis Stan Levy, Stephen Robbins, and Mordecai Finley, she listened to their vision of Klal Yisrael or family. Their vision for AJRCA, then as now, was of a family that supports each other and learns together. This vision fit with her ideal of living a purposeful life.
She never looked back.
For twenty-five years, Shoshi has helped AJRCA preserve and foster this goal of Klal Yisrael by supporting the Academy as a volunteer, Board member, and donor. She understands that the students are the heart of the Academy, as they carry out the founders’ vision and ensure the preservation of the Jewish people. Shoshi prioritizes attending student residencies in order to get to know each student, learn with them, help them on their path to ordination/graduation.
To Shoshi, the Academy’s mission of training the next generation of leaders for the Jewish religion ensures the preservation of the Jewish people. She has seen AJRCA evolve from a small cohort into a sophisticated and forward- thinking institution, and she’s thrilled about its collaboration with Loyola Marymount University.

Shoshi has nurtured students, faculty, staff, and board…literally feeding us at meetings and celebrations. Shopping in Israel to bring special pieces of Judaica to musmachim and musmachot, she opened her heart (and, often, her home) to all. Shoshi deserves a giant Kol HaKavod for simply being Shoshi. Thanks for shining a Beacon light on her.
