This course surveys what some of the greatest thinkers of recent times had to say about the Jewish condition in modern times. We will explore the insights and ideas about being Jewish, formulated by these thinkers:

Course Details

Class Length: 6 sessions on consecutive Mondays in October, November and December
Class Dates: 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/18, 11/25, 12/2
Meeting Time: 7:00-9:00pm
Class Location: UCLA @ Hillel or Online via Zoom
Parking: UCLA Lot #2, Westholme and Hilgard Aves, $2/hour for up to 3 hrs

Instructor

Rabbi Dr. Tal Sessler is an author, scholar, public speaker & spiritual leader. He is the Senior Rabbi of Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel, the largest Sephardic synagogue in California, and one of the largest in the country. He is also a Professor of Jewish philosophy at the Academy for Jewish Religion, and a lecturer in Rabbinic Studies at the American Jewish University.

With his personal warmth, and passion for making Torah relevant to life in the 21st century, Rabbi Sessler promotes a warm & friendly atmosphere that is spiritually inspiring, intellectually stimulating, and socially engaging.

He is the author of three books dealing with philosophy & contemporary Jewish identity.
