With the start of the 2025-2026 school year in full swing, we are excited to introduce you to members of the incoming class of students. Click here to see all of the posts in this series.

Today we’re talking with incoming Chaplaincy student Katey Lindley.

Q1) Where do you live?

I live in San Diego.

Q2) How did you first hear of AJRCA?

I work at Congregation Beth Israel and one of our rabbis recently graduated from the AJRCA Cantorial Program.

Q3) What was it about AJRCA that drew you to enroll here?

I checked several different schools but the flexibility, reputation, and accreditation made AJRCA my first choice.

Q4) What were you doing prior to enrolling?

I had just completed my Masters in Jewish Education from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and wanted more. I have been working for the past 8 years as Director of Caring Community supporting our congregants as they navigate illness and loss.

Q5) As you embark on this experience, what are you most excited about?

I love learning and the exploration of texts, sharing of ideas, and self exploration in relationship to the world and others. I am very excited about the process of growth over the next two years.

Welcome Katey!
