Today we’re talking with incoming Rabbinical student Lisa Rothstein Goldberg.
Q1) Where do you live?
San Diego
Q2) How did you first hear of AJRCA?
I don’t exactly remember. I transferred here from AJR-NY, after learning that the structure (distance program via Zoom) was identical.
Q3) What was it about AJRCA that drew you to enroll here?
While I have my own background and current way of practice, I love being able to study with classmates and faculty that represent such diverse perspectives. I also am thrilled to be able to attend a program that allows me to chase my dream without having to uproot the lives of my husband and young kids. I could not do a full-time program, especially if I had to move to Israel for a year. I have prior graduate classes in Jewish studies and am happy that AJRCA has generously given me transfer credit.
Q4) What were you doing prior to enrolling?
I transferred here from AJR-NY. Being on the same time zone as my school is a big plus!
Q5) As you embark on this experience, what are you most excited about?
I am excited about meeting and networking with others from all over the country (and world!) as I learn how to become a rabbi.
